Koi wa Ameagari no You ni chapter 60: DEVELOPMENT

Hey guys!

I usually don't like reading manga without furigana because

1. kanji so hard

2. if I don't recognize the kanji I can't use google translate to check the word meaning

3. kanji so hard

But I am very much in love with the manga Koi wa ameagari you ni (恋は雨上がりように), and the scanlations only go up to chapter 53. And I couldn't find a translation or summary anywhere. So, the challenge was inevitable~

Since I was translating the dialogue for myself as I went along, I thought that there might still be other people looking for a breakdown of the raws (I'm too poor for photoshop so this is as good as it's gonna get lol). Disclaimer: I'm still only ~N4 so some of this might not be accurate! It's just my best interpretation.

　Hito ami hito ami, ami komu omoi...

A person knits, a braided feeling...

ひと= person 編み= braided ひと編み= person knitting こむ= to him 想い= thought

もう= already 少しで = in a little 完成= completion (完, the end + 成, formation)

Sound effects: ガチャ (slamming, clash, clank noise)　ガタッ(short for ガタガタ, a rattle or clatter)

Kondo おつかれ！ (thanks for your work)

SFX: シュッ (squeezing bottle trigger sound), スコッ (not sure! does anyone know?), カラッ (short for カラット、which means both a sudden & complete change and to be dry)

***This was the first section I actually took the time to translate properly, and I made a shitty chart and everything so there was no way I was leaving it out lol.

* えっ　is said with a glottal stop, which means an abrupt little pause at the end. It's made by stopping air in your glottis, i.e. when you say "uh-uh."

He's so worried he's going to get in trouble for sexual harassment or something lol. If he's so paranoid there's definitely a reason haha

PS the Jelly Donut onigiri thing is a Pokemon 90s dub reference (ily English dub Brock. Frying pan drying pan 4 lyfe). I guess they thought it'd be easier to make kids believe that a rice ball is a jelly donut than to expose children to the fact that other cultures have their own cuisines? Hmmmmm
